■「小さな証し」(2025) /「 Between Me and Sakitsu」(2025)

 熊本県天草の﨑津集落を訪れました。

この集落は、潜伏キリシタンが信仰を守り続けてきた歴史を伝える場所として、２０１８年に長崎とともに世界遺産に登録されています。

世界遺産と聞くと少し敷居が高いように感じられるかもしれませんが、﨑津は海と山に囲まれた穏やかで静かな漁村でした。

集落を歩いていると、言葉では言い表せない不思議な感覚に包まれました。

それは、人の気配なのか、自然の力なのか、あるいはこの土地が持つ独特の雰囲気なのか。

それが一体何なのかはわかりませんが、わたしの心は動きました。

その感覚に魅了されて、わたしは目にした光景をありのままにカメラで記録しました。

写し出された情景には、﨑津の人々に支え守られてきた信仰と漁村景観が素朴ながらも粛々と表れていました。

この集落と向き合う中で、﨑津の奥深い魅力に惹かれながら、自分が歩む道を考えるきっかけを与えてもらいました。

この作品は、わたしの心と﨑津集落との間に生まれた「小さな証し」です。

 I visited the Sakitsu village in Amakusa, Kumamoto Prefecture.

This village was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018, together with Nagasaki, as a place that tells the story of hidden Christians who continued to preserve their faith throughout history.

While the designation of World Heritage Site might seem somewhat intimidating, Sakitsu was a peaceful and quiet fishing village nestled between sea and mountains.

As I walked through the village, I was enveloped by an indescribable, mysterious sensation.

Was it the presence of people, the power of nature, or perhaps the unique atmosphere that this land possesses?

I couldn’t identify what it was exactly, but something stirred within my heart.

Captivated by this sensation, I recorded the scenes before me just as they were through my camera.

The captured imagery revealed the faith and fishing village landscape that had been supported and preserved by the people of Sakitsu—simple yet solemnly present.

In facing this village, drawn to the profound allure of Sakitsu, I was given an opportunity to contemplate the path I would take in my own life.

This work is a “small testament” born between my heart and the Sakitsu village.
